In the movie, Gustave and Zero were running away from J.G. Jopling, who is a ruthless hitman working for Dmitri, and murders Kovacs and Madame’s butler Serge X. Starting with Gustave and Zero’s inheriting and theft of the painting, their escape from Jopling devolves into a long cat-and-mouse chase. Jopling’s long journey of trailing Gustave only with a few clues/trace, it illustrated as a chase in an unknown maze.

STORYBOARD


Following the silhouette of a cat in the maze represents Jopling’s trailing of invisible Gustave. The sequence ends with the painting which caused all of this chasing game.






PROCESS

Program: Cinema 4D, Adobe Photoshop





For our process, we set up our scenes with models, cameras, and lighting in Cinema 4D then compositing was all done in Photoshop. Also we created a background for all the shots, added visual effects, and put in all the cast members also in Photoshop.
